  • Founded on May 11, 2001, began as a 75-bed facility with 7 doctors, dedicated to providing affordable, top-tier healthcare to the Muvattupuzha community.

2002

  • Nirmala School of Nursing, founded with 30 seats, empowers future healthcare heroes through scholarships, financial aid, and free education, shaping compassionate nurses for a brighter tomorrow.

  • The hospital canteen started with a convenient space for staff, patients, and visitors to enjoy healthy meals and refreshments.

  • The Blood Center established to ensure a steady, reliable supply of blood for emergencies, surgeries, and treatments.

2003

  • The School of Nursing has relocated to a newly built facility, reaffirming its dedication to excellence in nursing education.

  • A mortuary was built to provide dignified and respectful care for families during their most challenging moments.

2006

  • The Free Pain and Palliative Care Centre provides compassionate care, ensuring comfort and preserving dignity for those battling serious and terminal illnesses.

  • Yoga classes were introduced to promote physical and mental well-being, offering patients a revitalizing therapeutic experience.

  • The Ayurveda department was launched to offer traditional healing therapies, expertly guided by professionals, for enhanced patient wellness.

2008

  • An allergy clinic was launched to offer specialized, personalized care for those battling allergic conditions, ensuring better health and well-being.

2009

  • The casualty department was expanded, growing from 7 to 12 beds, enhancing emergency care capacity.

  • The pharmacy department was upgraded with separate IP and OP pharmacies and a central store for streamlined service.

  • The X-ray department was digitalized, and CT and ultrasound services were introduced through outsourced facilities.

  • On December 3, 2009, Nirmala Medical Centre received the prestigious "Safe I" certificate, reflecting its committed dedication to safety and exceptional patient care.

2011

  • Nirmala Medical Centre celebrated its 10th Anniversary, commemorating a decade of healthcare excellence, compassion, and community service, with a vision for a future of continued innovation and care.

  • Nirmala Medical Centre was proudly recognized as a Baby-Friendly Hospital, highlighting its commitment to providing exceptional, evidence-based care for mothers and newborns.

  • The Counseling Centre was established to provide compassionate support and guidance for emotional and mental well-being.

  • The BSc Nursing College was founded, enrolling 50 students in the BSc course and 30 in the Post-BSc course, shaping the future of nursing education.

  • Nirmala Medical Centre won the Kerala State Pollution Control Board Award, securing 3rd place in 2011 for its dedication to environmental sustainability in healthcare.

2012

  • Once again Nirmala Medical Centre won the Kerala State Pollution Control Board Award, securing 3rd place in 2012 for its dedication to environmental sustainability in healthcare.

2013

  • In May, the new Nursing College building was inaugurated, marking a major advancement in facilities and enhancing education for future nursing professionals.

2014

  • Nirmala Medical Centre was proudly awarded the Kerala State Pollution Control Board State Award, clinching the 2nd prize for its continued commitment to environmental sustainability in healthcare.

  • Established on 28th August 2014 with 2 machines, the dialysis unit now operates with 8 machines, serving 54 patients, including those receiving free and discounted treatments, with 2 CSR-funded machines ensuring accessible care for all.

2015

  • The Cath Lab, launched on 15th March 2015, provides advanced care through outsourced services.

  • The fourth childbirth at Nirmala Medical Centre was offered free, reflecting our dedication to providing safe, high-quality care for mothers and newborns, regardless of financial constraints.

2017

  • The psychiatric department, with outpatient and inpatient services, offers de-addiction, family counseling, and holistic care for mental health, supporting those in need.

2018

  • Despite flood damage in 2018, Nirmala Medical Centre offered crucial relief, providing food, clothing, medical aid, financial and emotional support to help staff and residents recover.

  • Solar panels were installed, enhancing sustainability and reducing the hospital's environmental footprint.

2019

  • The hospital proudly earned its NABH Entry Level accreditation, highlighting its commitment to quality healthcare.

2020

  • A new administrative block was unveiled, optimizing operations and supporting the growing needs of Nirmala Medical Centre’s team and patients.

2022

  • NABH accreditation was successfully renewed in 2022, reinforcing the hospital’s dedication to healthcare excellence.

2023

  • In 2023, the Cath Lab was inaugurated to provide timely, affordable, and compassionate care, with a strong focus on charitable initiatives for those in need.

  • In 2023, the Hospital achieved new height in quality management by receiving the ISO-9001-2015 certification on in October 2023

2024

  • In 2024, the Hospital achieved new height in quality management by receiving the ISO-45001-2018 certification on in October 2024

2025

  • The hospital has successfully completed the NABH audit and is now poised to receive full-level accreditation, reaffirming its unwavering commitment to healthcare excellence.

  • Launched with CSR support, the Ambulance Service offers essential, cost-effective transport, free for the underprivileged, ensuring timely access to healthcare.
